YogaBugs is back by popular demand in Teddington, Twickenham and Whitton!! HURRAY !!! Hi everyone, my name is Sam and I'm the Regional Manager for the area. I offer fun and creative YogaBugs classes for all children aged between 3 and 7. School age children are whisked away on thrilling intergalactic missions, pre-historic expeditions and even visit Hogwart's! While pre-schoolers enter a world populated by familiar literary characters and songs. These sessions also provide a gentle work-out for you! All classes incorporate yoga postures, breathing techniques and relaxation which are woven into our creative stories enabling children to increase their self- confidence, gross motor skills and their concentration levels. Overall this helps give your child a healthy start in life and you peace of mind and an easier life! The only limit is your child's imagination! Samantha Harvey BA (Hons) Theology and Classics My name is Sam and I've been practising yoga for over fifteen years and teaching YogaBugs since August 2009. I originally discovered yoga whilst at Art College when I was intrigued as to how one of our life models managed to hold such dynamic and convoluted poses and yet appear so serene! When I began my degree in Twickenham I was very fortunate to discover the classes of the wonderful Tuesday McNeill and was truly bitten by the yoga bug. This led me to explore many different styles including Sivananda. Iyengar, Kundalini, Yogalates and Shakti dance. My son Hayden, was born in 2004 and as he grew and began to explore the world I became aware of the hugely positive effect yoga could have on his well-being and overall development. Originally his idea of yoga was to use mummy as a human climbing frame, but as he grew he began copying me and practising postures independently - I have even seen him perform balances on his scooter! The progression towards teaching children seemed natural and so I trained as a YogaBugs teacher and how have the fantastic opportunity of sharing my love and enthusiasm for yoga's transformative power with the next generation. In the past I have worked as a ceramic artist, illustrator and theatre designer but nothing comes close to the fun and creativity being a YogaBugs teacher inspires. Since becoming a YogaBugs teacher I have regularly travelled into space, been dinosaur spotting and helped Harry Potter overcome evil sorcerers! I feel truly privileged to be bringing this wonderful gift to children and doing what is quite simply the best job in the world!! I am also a Reiki practitioner and am currently working towards full accreditation for the Yoga Alliance to enable me to teach adults and pre and post natal yoga. I am also a qualified family yoga teacher. Namaste
